We started out with the bison meatballs. The sauce was so savory, and the meatball had so much flavor. It's such a great combo. We ordered the salmon, the walleye, the veal, and the waygu special. I was able to try all of them and was not disappointed in any of the dishes. Although the salmon was my favorite, with the pesto on top, wow! I should have taken a few more photos. Jen was our waitress. She was amazing! Excellent service, excellent food. Will definitely be back soon!

Maxwell's Restaurant Bar and Grill - Fargo, ND
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My wife and I had a miraculous dining experience at Maxwell's during our visit to Fargo. We arrived around 9:00 PM, knowing they closed at 10:00, and rushed over hoping to get seated. Despite the late hour, the service was incredibly accommodating.
--Service
Our server Jared was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, and very informative about all the entrees we inquired about. The service was quick without feeling rushed, which we really appreciated given the time constraints.
--The Food
**Bison Meatballs (Appetizer)**
Absolutely delicious. A great way to start the meal.
**Elk Tenderloin**
This was my choice, and I was thoroughly impressed. The dish came with sweet potato, broccoli, and an exceptional sauce. I expected the elk to be fairly gamey, but it was cooked just right - very tender and juicy. The presentation and flavor combination were perfect.
**Black Angus Ribeye**
My wife's selection was equally outstanding. Cooked to perfection with delicious mashed potatoes, broccoli, and sauce. The steak was incredibly juicy, and she savored every bite despite not typically eating large portions. I tried a piece myself, and it was exceptional.
--Value
Some reviewers mention the prices being high, but honestly, the quality of the food makes it absolutely worth the cost. You get what you pay for, and in this case, it's premium ingredients prepared expertly.
--Final Thoughts
We unfortunately had to skip dessert due to time (closing hour and our drive back to Minot the next day), but we're already planning our return visit. Next time, we're definitely staying for dessert!
--Bottom line:
If you're in Fargo, Maxwell's is a must-visit. 100% recommended, and we'll absolutely be back!

My boyfriend brought me to Maxwell’s to celebrate my birthday on 8/12. Our server was amazing! She was super personable, provided awesome recommendations (as we’re not from the area), and made the evening extra special.
The food and drinks were delicious. The macadamia nut crusted Chilean sea bass was perfectly cooked. The lobster risotto with it was creamy and also cooked to perfection. We highly recommend the chocolate lava cake with vanilla bean ice cream - so good! In addition, the atmosphere was nice.
Thank you for the amazing experience! We can’t wait to come back!

Had dinner here for an anniversary night and it was a really nice experience. The place has an upscale feel without being too stuffy, which I appreciated. Service was attentive and polite the whole evening, and they timed each course well. The steak was cooked just right, tender with a lot of flavor, and the sides were fresh too. Dessert was probably my favorite part, rich but not overly sweet. Prices are definitely on the higher side, but that’s expected for this kind of spot. Overall, a classy place for a special night out.

In town for work and a colleague recommended Maxwell's with the caveat, "it's hard to spot cuz it's sort of in a shopping mall." I'm so glad I found it (and it's only slightly a shopping mall)! Sat at the bar, had the mindblowing Max Burger cooked perfectly to medium and a custom made martini that ticked every box. I appreciated the quality of the food and the friendly bartenders who gave customized welcoming service. The burger is easily in the top 2 burgers I've ever eaten...maybe even the best in flavor, quality of the meat, what came on it, and just the perfect way it was cooked. Oh and the fries were fantastic! There were much fancier options on the menu, but you just can't beat a gourmet burger that shows other burgers how to do it!

Our experience was fantastic! Jerad was very attentive and had wonderful recommendations. The food was phenomenal and different than what we are used to. Very cozy atmosphere. High end without being too snobby. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area! Carrot cake bread pudding was a must.

Had dinner here last weekend and honestly it was a really nice experience. The restaurant has a classy atmosphere without feeling too formal or stuffy. Our server was friendly, checked in at the right times, and knew the menu well. I ordered the filet and it came out cooked exactly how I asked. The sides were flavorful and everything looked beautifully plated. Dessert was also worth saving room for. Prices are on the higher side, but that's pretty much expected for a place like this. Overall, a very enjoyable evening and I'd definitely come back for a special occasion.

I've never known what to expect from this place. From the outside I feel like its always just blended in to the strip mall nightmare that surrounds it, but dont let that fool you. What's inside is an exceptional dining experience and fantastic food and beverage. The food was some of the best we've enjoyed in the area and the service was excellent. The restaurant is well appointed and feels high end. 10/10 will return.

We went on a Wednesday night and it was quite nice. We tried the Escargot and SO DELICIOUS! We also tried the crab cakes (amazing) and the BBQ ribs with blue berry compote. My husband had the Elk and I tried the Ribeye and everything was delicious. The wine list was huge. Dinner was amazing.
